Within Steps of the Bay Area

Sited at the edge of Milpitas’ Tech Industrial Park District, between Barber Lane and the I-880 Nimitz Freeway, 600 Barber is situated on a 3-acre parcel, surrounded by 5-story mixed-use buildings and industrial properties. The project comprises of 5,500 SF of retail, 12,800 SF of office space, and 372 residential units distributed across four buildings. All elements share a podium and garage. It has been designed with the goal of bringing retail, satellite offices and residential life within steps of the Bay Area.

The project was conceived of not as a large, monolithic building, but as a series of smaller buildings and courtyards within a city block. Through the implementation of an animated retail façade on the ground floor, the building creates an inviting pedestrian experience and encourage pedestrian and sidewalk activity along Barber Lane. The residential components above are purposefully developed as separate structures on the podium, providing appropriate scale and massing and a generous amount of open space. Each residential component is organized around four distinct structures, each with dedicated lobbies, and circulation.

Both indoor and outdoor landscaped amenities are available on the ground floor at the rear of the building and within 3 separate, yet interconnected courtyards at the podium level. Amenities provided in these common areas aim to promote physical activity, dining entertainment, community, swimming and other year-round leisure recreation.
